2025 | Worthy Group Year in Review

2025 was a significant year for Worthy Group, marked by growth, consolidation, and a continued focus on building sustainable capability across our businesses. Operating across parts, engineering, auctions, and freight, the Group remained focused on delivering practical solutions for our clients while strengthening internal structure and alignment.

    Worthy Engineering

Worthy Engineering experienced a strong and demanding year, with continued growth in machine rebuilds, component repair, and specialist services. Our Kalgoorlie and Perth workshops worked closely together to deliver full rebuilds, component overhauls, boilermaking, lineboring, and light vehicle support for clients operating in challenging environments.

Organic growth, supported by strong leadership and skilled teams, remained a key theme throughout 2025. This measured approach has allowed Worthy Engineering to maintain high standards while continuing to expand its capabilities.

    Worthy Parts

Worthy Parts underwent a year of renewed focus in 2025, supported by strengthened leadership and clearer operational direction. The Asset Disposal division saw significant growth, continuing to support Tier 1 mining companies with structured and professional asset sales.

Demand remained strong across underground parts, machinery, and components, while the business continued to refine its inventory strategy to better align with changing market requirements. Leveraging the wider Worthy Group remains a key advantage, allowing clients to access removal, repair, marketing, and sales solutions through a single group.

    Worthy Auctions

2025 marked the rebrand of Equipment Dealer Direct to Worthy Auctions, aligning the auction business more closely with the Worthy Group. Auctions held in the back half of the year delivered encouraging results, particularly across light vehicles and smaller construction equipment.

Worthy Auctions now forms a core part of the Group’s end-to-end asset sales model, providing transparent price discovery and efficient conversion while complementing the retail and asset disposal pathways.

    Worthy Freight

Worthy Freight experienced a challenging year in 2025, particularly within a tight labour market. Despite these conditions, the division played an important role in supporting Worthy Group’s internal operations, providing reliable transport and logistics across the Group’s businesses.

Looking ahead to 2026, Worthy Freight will focus on strengthening structure, resourcing, and systems to better support both internal operations and a growing base of external clients.

    Looking Ahead to 2026

As a Group, 2025 reinforced the importance of structure, flexibility, and collaboration across our businesses. With clearer alignment, strengthened leadership, and a growing suite of complementary services, Worthy Group is well positioned to continue supporting our clients into 2026.

We thank our clients, partners, and team members for their continued support throughout 2025 and look forward to building on this foundation in the year ahead.

Jaymi Steps Up with Perth Lynx

Worthy Group’s Jaymi Worthington Joins Perth Lynx Coaching Team in Kalgoorlie Pre-Season Games

This week marks an exciting chapter for basketball in the Goldfields, with the Perth Lynx taking on the Bendigo Spirit in two blockbuster WNBL pre-season clashes at the Evolution Mining Basketball Stadium. Supported by SEN (Sports Entertainment Network), major sponsor Northern Star Resources, and grants from both the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder (CKB) and the WA State Government (DLGSC / CITS), this event is a proud moment for our community.

For Worthy Group, it is made even more special with our very own Jaymi Worthington-Head Coach of the Goldfields Giants Women-being invited to step onto the Lynx bench as an assistant coach for the series.

    A Unique Coaching Opportunity

Jaymi, alongside Giants Men’s Head Coach Lennon Smartt, was honoured when Lynx Head Coach Ryan Petrik asked them to join his coaching staff for the week. The chance to contribute at WNBL level is not only a privilege but also an invaluable learning experience.

“It’s a real opportunity to be a sponge at a higher level,” Jaymi said, reflecting on the chance to observe and learn from one of the country’s leading coaches and players.

Local Pride – Celebrating Jaya Scafidi

The games also mark a homecoming for Kalgoorlie’s own Jaya Scafidi, who has earned a place in the Perth Lynx squad. Jaymi has previously been an assistant coach when Jaya was playing for the Goldfields Giants and coached against Jaya in local competitions and is thrilled to see her former player rise to the national stage.

“The town is extremely proud of Jaya’s development. To see her included in the Lynx squad is inspiring-not just for her, but for every junior coming through our Goldfields programs,” Jaymi shared.

Jaya’s journey is a shining example of the pathways that exist for regional athletes, and her presence on court is sure to motivate the next generation of basketballers in Kalgoorlie.

Basketball in the Goldfields – Bigger Than Ever

This week’s games highlight the strength of basketball in our region. With Northern Star’s major financial backing, combined with the vital support of CKB and state government grants, Kalgoorlie is hosting one of the most significant professional basketball events in its history.

Crowds will enjoy top-level WNBL action, with 50% of all door takings proudly donated to the Goldfields Women’s Health Care Centre – A powerful reminder of the community-first values behind this event.

    Good Luck, Jaymi!

We at Worthy Group are incredibly proud of Jaymi’s achievements, both on and off the court. Her leadership with the Giants Women continues to raise the standard of local basketball, and this opportunity with the Lynx is deserved recognition of her talent, commitment, and passion for the game.

If you’re in town, make sure you get down to Evolution Mining Basketball Stadium to cheer on Jaymi, Jaya, and the Lynx as they take on Bendigo Spirit. It’s Kalgoorlie’s time to shine!

Celebrating 7 Years of Dedication: Rick Butterfield’s Journey with Worthy Group

This month we’re proud to celebrate a significant milestone—Rick Butterfield’s 7-year anniversary with the Worthy Group family.

Rick’s journey began in early 2018 when he joined Worthy Parts as a Workshop Supervisor, diving headfirst into the world of machinery dismantles and inventory logistics. From the get-go, Rick brought a strong work ethic, and a hands-on approach to our workshop during a critical time of growth.

But Rick isn’t one to stay in one lane. It quickly became clear that his natural people skills and genuine approach to building relationships made him a perfect fit for the sales team. With his trademark sense of humour and ability to connect with anyone, he transitioned into a sales role and started building lasting connections across the industry—many of which are still going strong today.

When Worthy Engineering went through a major restructure, Rick didn’t hesitate. Instead of standing back, he selflessly put his hand up to return to the workshop and support where he was needed most. It’s this kind of loyalty and quiet leadership that doesn’t always shout the loudest—but speaks volumes about Rick’s character.

Now, in his current role as a Project Coordinator, Rick sits at the intersection of our sales and engineering teams—helping bridge the gap, coordinating complex jobs, and doing what he loves most: helping clients and building genuine friendships.

Rick is a valued part of our business, and his commitment, humility, and team-first attitude haven’t gone unnoticed. And even when he flies under the radar, those who’ve worked alongside Rick know the impact he makes each and every day.

Rick, thank you for seven solid years of loyalty, resilience, and mateship. Your journey with Worthy Group has been filled with grit, growth, and a whole lot of good banter. We’re better for having you as part of the team, and we’re looking forward to the next chapter of your story.

Here’s to you, Rick—a true Worthy legend.

With that in mind, we are thrilled to announce the full-time appointment of Martin Browning (or “Marty” as he is widely known) as our new Group Manager of Operations. After providing invaluable insights in a consulting capacity towards the end of last year, Marty has officially joined the team in 2025 to support our continued growth and operational improvements.

Marty brings with him over 25 years of diverse experience, having worked across various mining operations throughout the Goldfields, Pilbara, and New South Wales. His extensive career has encompassed both open-pit and underground mines, as well as coal operations, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges faced by mining enterprises.
